1 hour 20 min boat safari on the Tempisque River bordering Palo Verde National Park viewing a vast array of wildlife such as iguanas, crocodiles, monkeys, and many species of birds. After a plentiful Costa Rican style meal, we will visit the Guaitil Pottery village that is famous throughout Costa Rica and the rest of Central America for its pre-Columbian Chorotega style.

Hotel Pick up

You will be picked up from your hotel and journey one hour through the back roads of Guanacaste’s Sabanero (Cowboy Country) Province to Palo Verde National Park.

Hour Boat Safari on Tempisque River

After a scenic guided drive, you will then hope into your boat and spend 2 hours on the Tempique River that borders the Palo Verde National Park, best known for its murky water and spectacular wetlands. Your naturalist guide will help to spot wildlife in the dry forest vegetation and mangroves. There are over 600 different species of birds, both local and migratory. Appropriately, this tour is a real treat for bird watchers, as you’ll have the chance of spotting a wide range of fowl that includes storks, egrets, spoonbills, grebes and more. Also be on the lookout for monkeys, iguanas, scarlet macaws, anteaters, crocodiles and caimans, which can often be seen lingering along the banks of the river.

Costa Rica Style Lunch

After your boat safari, you will be taken to eat a plentiful Costa Rican style meal called a Casado with rice, beans, salad, plantains, Dietary restrictions can be accommodated.

Guaitil Pottery Village

Before heading back, we will visit the Guaitil Pottery village that is famous throughout Costa Rica and the rest of Central America for its pre-Columbian Chorotega style. They will show you how they make the pottery and there is an opportunity to buy some if you like!

Pick up between 6:00am - 7:00am in all Hotels San José
8:30am- First stop in La Paz Waterfall.
8:45am- Second Stop in Local restaurant to take and enjoy a typical breakfast of Costa Rica the famous gallo pinto.
9:30am- Continue in route to La Fortuna area.
11:00am- Arrive at Arenal Volcano National Park walking and hiking on a base of the volcano.
13:30pm- Lunch Time in a local restaurant, where you can enjoy a delicious typical lunch of Costa Rica casado.
14.30pm- Arrive at Tabacon Resort enjoy the most famous Hot Springs Water around the world.
18:00 to 19:00pm- Dinner Time.
17:00pm- Leave, Finish the day in La Fortuna area and everybody ready to come back at San Jose or Liberia after enjoy a beautiful day.
21:30pm- Arrive a San Jose area.

What to bring?

Insect repellent, Sunscreen, Waterproof Jacket, Walking tennis and extra clothes, Sunglasses, Cap or Hat, Camera or your cell phone is fine, Swimsuit

In which hotels do they host me?

A&E Tours Travel takes care of every detail and accommodation is essential for our clients, we use category 3 and 4 stars hotels in each place we visit.

Can I upgrade to a higher category hotel?

Yes, prior communication with our reservations department you can request the change, you should know that being another category will have an additional cost.

How big are the groups?

The groups range from 2 persons to 12, in high seasons there may be larger groups, however we try to ensure that the groups are not more than 12 persons, this allows the tour to be personalized for each member.

What is the difference between the Low Cost Tour and the Regular Tour?

This tour does not include the entrance to the Tabacon Resort, because of its cost, some people prefer not pay for these and visit other Local Hot Springs.

Can buy additional activities?

Yes, A&E Tours Travel has other tours and activities in all the places our travelers visit, upon confirmation of availability you can practice, Kayak, Canoe, Snorkeling, Rappelling, Zipline or Coffee Tour.

Is possible change one activity for another?

Yes, some can only be changed and in others you have to pay an additional price for the change.

Are the Pickup and Drop off times exact?

In the Pickup time, normally our staff will be between 10 to 15 minutes before departure, they will announce themselves at the hotel reception that will take you for your tour, they will kindly wait for the agreed time to arrive, you can take our minivan and continue with the route.
Due to vehicle traffic conditions or weather the pickup and drop off time may vary, so we ask all our clients to be punctual, if a client delays in leaving, they will be given a time of 20 minutes and the other clients will be notified about the delay.

What kind of lunch and dinner can eat?

In all our tours you will receive always fresh food carefully prepared so that you can enjoy Costa Rican cuisine, we offer the typical Casado for lunch, Gallo Pinto for breakfast, at dinner you can try other dishes selected for you; pizzas, pasta, seafood.

What drinks can I taste?

You can consume and taste natural drinks with fresh seasonal fruits which we recommend to delight your palate, if it is not to your liking, you can select a carbonated drink, Coffee and you can also consume them.

I can order vegetarian, vegan or kosher meals, does this have additional costs?

Yes, A&E Tours Travel will look for the best alternatives for your food near the places you will visit, your additional cost will be communicated by our reservations department, you only have to request it when making your reservation.
